I have been following this blog for a while. I found it through a teacher friend of mine from Madisonville. The family is going through a VERY tough time so please take a minute to say a prayer for their daughter, Katie, who has stage 4 Neuroblastoma. At this point, the family is praying for a miracle.

I am sooooo excited about this post! I was .....drum roll please.........featured on www.polkadotbirthday.com!!!! The hard work of putting the party together with just the right colors/theme paid off. :) I ordered Carter's polka dot birthday balloons from her and sent her some pics after the party. Yay! Here is what I've been up to lately.....

I made this tie shirt for Carter to wear for Father's day. He looked so cute in it!!

around the edge. Simple as that!

My silly monkey! This is the face he makes when he is trying to get something that I wont let him have. lol!
He used to smile at EVERYONE when we went to the store, mall, etc. Now if someone looks at him and says "Oh how cute" Carter makes this face. It makes me laugh every time!!

I made this Camo/minky dot lovey. Some people call them taggies. This was my third one to make. Not as hard as it looks, just time consuming. Carter has one that I bought at fair on the square--probably paid wayyyy too much--but he LOVES it! He snuggles it every night. :)

I love these prints for girls! I just bought black/white damask print to go along with this set. Super cute!!

Prints for boys are hard to find. Almost everything has a little pink on it somewhere. These cowboy print burp cloths should work for any lil' cowpoke!

I like these prints a lot too. The argyle(probably didn't spell that right-but I'm in a hurry)print is cute for a boy. Ty says it's kinda girly....but what does he know. lol!

I think these make great baby shower gifts. If you are going to have spit up all over you, you may as well do in style! Let me know if you would like me to make you a set.

Our baby boy turned one!!! We really cannot believe how fast he is growing! It is such a bittersweet time. We had a big blowout for his 1st birthday party....you know how it goes. We went all out. :) We had a monkey theme with blue/brown/green and lots of polka dots. I absolutely loved it!!

I made the "It's a party" sign just incase they went to the wrong house..lol!
I was going to hang the "I am One" banner around his high chair but it was too long.

I covered some formula cans to weight the balloons down in-then I stuffed some tulle inside. Of course, it had to have a tulle ribbon! I am in love with tulle now!!

We did bubbles as favors...they were about 50 cents apeice. Once I wrapped them with tulle and made a "thanks" tag, they were good to go!

This was the favor table. Why do people forget to take favors with them?? I had a bunch left over.

I love the Happy Birthday banner. It took me a while-it was the first I've ever made. I see why people on etsy charge $40 for them.

My neighbor had a book with these cupcakes in them. I loved them and thought they would be easy to make....WRONG! Took me forever! They turned out cute though...thank goodness! I used raisins for the eyes, chocolate disks for ears and piped the mouth/nose on. YUM!

I got carter's smash cake from Cakes by Claire...she did Great!! It matched perfectly!

My friend Kimber made these DELICIOUS cookies. How cute are they?!! She is so talented!! Thanks!

I got this cookie jar thing from wal mart, wrapped in ribbon, made a sign and VOILA! MoNkEy punch!

I really thought everything turned out just perfect. It was just the way I've been dreaming it would be! Is that silly? Maybe it's a mom thing. Carter had such a great time playing with all the kiddos. Usually it's just the two of us, so it was nice to have a house full of people for a change.

11 months old...Really?!!

Wow! I can't believe Carter is so close to ONE YEAR! It is crazy really! Like clockwork-right at eleven months he started pulling up on things. Yikes!
He has been working on it for about two weeks. He would crawl over to the coffee table and get up on his knees but couldn't stand up. Well now that he figured out how, he is pulling up on EVERYTHING. It's a little scary.

So....this is what happened. I was cooking supper and carter was playing with the dishwasher...SITTING on the floor. He was banging and splashing in the little bit of water that was in the lid. He started to get very quiet so I turned around and this is what I saw!!!! He was ON TOP of the dishwasher lid!! How did he manage that?? Not sure but it almost gave me a heart attack! (The next day is when he started pulling up.)

Carter acting silly in the bathtub...like always! This boy will smile at anyone-at anytime! I just love it!!

Usually I don't let the dogs lick all over his face but this was too cute...and bathtime was right around the corner. He just giggled and giggled every time Clyde would lick him. So cute!!

On Saturday went to my parents in Jewett for the day. My dad bar-b-qued and we sat around and laughed-mostly at Carter. He is so silly. He makes the cutest faces and noises. Ty and Chris(my sister's fiance) went fishing and caught a bunch! We brought home 3 bags of bass. Good thing Chris and Ashley don't eat fish.
There is always a HUGE field of bluebonnets down the road from my parents house. My mom, sister and I decided to take Carter and get a few pics while the guys were fishing....we actually took a TON! He was too precious and SO curious! It was really sunny and really hot but we made some good memories!
Hope your Easter was GREAT!!

The weather has been just PERFECT lately. I could stand it about 10 degrees warmer though. I am ready for the summer. I have been trying to sit outside during naptime to get a little sun....I am like a ghost! Carter even has more color than me! ha! I need one of those proffesional spray tans...yeah right! I am not standing in front of anyone and letting them spray me. :)

Carter loves the dishwasher! As soon as he sees me open it he's on his way.

Now doesn't he look just pitiful? We had a birthday party earlier that day and my sister was visiting. I think Carter was pooped! I just love this picture though!

Seriously....he is almost ALWAYS smiling!

I love this bathtime picture of him. We did a funky mohawk =) Actually, this was before his haircut. I think. I can't seem to keep track of anything anymore.

We planted some flowers a while back. Just in hanging baskets...I can't keep a flowerbed alive. We planted petunias, impatians, and some hawaiian mix. So far so good! Carter had fun picking all the flowers off. I'm sure he ate a few...but he's a boy so I'm sure he'll eat worse things than that at some point and time! lol!!

Sleep and springtime!

Well Ty and I have been dreaming for months what it would be like to sleep past 5 am. Carter has been waking up between 5-6 am every morning for a bottle. Sometimes he goes back to sleep and sometimes he doesn't. It happened like magic...all of a sudden...As soon as Carter hit 10 months he started sleeping until at least 7. Crazy huh? I don't know why or what triggered it but let me just say....IT'S AMAZING! Waking up in the morning before he does is so nice. I get my coffee and then wait for him to wake up. :) I love it! Our little man is growing up....

We bought this little wagon about a week ago and we LOVE it! Especially Carter! We go for rides everyday. If he's fussy I stick him in it and we go for a ride. It seems to do the trick! :o) If you have a little one-I would definitely suggest buying one. Ours is Step2 brand. I even put it together all by myself! YAY! Oh and the corn was for the squirrels...LOL!

The weather has been perfect lately! Carter and I have been taking advantage of it and spending a lot of time outside.

This is the box Carter's new wagon came in. He was so curious about what was inside of it. I put the ball in it and he crawled through. :)

I LOVE HIM!!!!!

Carter saw me getting some foil out of the drawer last night while I was cooking. Next thing I know, he is right under my feet! So I put him back on the rug where he was and sure enough...he was CRAWLING!! yay!! When Daddy got home we had to re-inact it for the camera. =) He just made our day!!

Carter was giving his daddy a very serious look. Wonder what he was thinking??

He did so good! He sat in the chair by himself and didn't cry one bit. I didn't expect him to cry because he hardly ever does- but I thought he would at least be fussy. He was such a big boy!

Carter was so cute while she was cutting his hair. He kept trying to look behind himself to see her. Once he found the mirror he just stared at her.

The lady who cut his hair gave us the sweetest 1st haircut certificate for his baby book. It almost made me cry!

Carter Jay is growing up!! He will be ten months before we know it. I have finally figured out what we are going to do for his birthday....a MONKEY theme! I cannot wait to have his party!! Being a mommy is so much fun :~)

Carter and I spent a lot of time on the front porch during the nice weather the past couple of weeks. It was perfect!! Carter seemed to be fascinated by the piece of grass. I love watching him look at and examine new things. I could tell he was really thinking about it. And of course, it had to go in his mouth at one point! While I was snapping pictures of him I caught a cute one of him with his head turned sideways. He was so curious about my phone. The black and white with splash of red is one of my faves! I am now in love with photoshop! You can do all sorts of things with your pics.

Shortly after these pics Carter caught a nasty stomach virus. Then I caught it. It was TERRIBLE. He is finally getting over it and getting an appetite again. I am finally finished with all the laundry that a stomach bug brings :( Yuck!

Carter just turned eight months old!!! Wow! I love watching him grow. Everyday he learns something new. His most recent accomplishment was the best so far.....While he was playing and I was eating supper he said "Momma"!!! It was the sweetest thing ever! It just melted my heart. I even caught him saying it on the video camera a few minutes later. Ty was working late so I'm glad I caught it and could show it to him. Ty thought it was adorable too!!

Just a few random pics.....

I don't remember what was so funny but Carter was laughing at something :o) For Christmas we got him a new duck bathtub. For some reason this kid LOVES ducks! He loves the sound they make! If you squeeze the ducks beak it will quack! How cute!! Carter loves it! It's just the perfect size for him too! I think if he could talk in this picture he would be saying "Can I have a little privacy please?"
He isn't crawling yet-just rolling and scooting. But that's okay with me...:o) It's much easier to keep a handle on him when he is not so mobile. I love Carter's little collared shirt...he looks like a little man. He is just growing and growing!

Well my computer is still acting silly when I post pics-so forgive me if this is messy.....I can't see what order the pics are in until I view the post. Inside the post is just jibberish.....anyhoo.........

The first one-I think- is Addie(my neice) pushing Carter around in his new walker at my in-laws. It was so cute! She would crash into something and they would both giggle :o) One of the toys we got Carter was this music thing with a mirror that he can sit and play with. He LOVES it! I even love it! The buttons are all easy enough for him to push and he gets to look in mirror at himself. All the songs are great too!

Carter loved the ribbons on the presents. He didn't care too much about the paper but he loved the ribbons and bows. I just love that kid!

New camo jammies from Old Navy. I love them! They are like big boy jammies-2 pieces instead of all the buttons.
Our Christmas was wonderful! Carter got lots of goodies, I got a new Keurig coffee maker(love it!) and Ty got a new bow for hunting. Carter is finally old enough to kinda play with his cousin Addie. She was so sweet to him. She would give him kisses and pat his back. She kept pointing and saying "baby"- it was too cute. She is going to have a little brother in June and she'll make a great big sister! I can't wait until all the kiddos are big enough to play together!

This is a video of Carter laughing after dinner a few nights ago. I LOVE when he laughs!! And it doesn't take much.....all I was doing was spinning around in circles and he was cracking up. He is the happiest baby. I just love him to pieces!! I am so lucky to have such a happy baby boy. Carter smiles at just about anyone who looks his way, especially girls :o) I can't believe in just a few short days he will be 8 months old! WOW! Only 4 more and I will have a ONE YEAR OLD!!

The top two pics are of Carter in some Christmas jammies. They were just too cute to pass up! I was trying to get him to look at me when he was beside the moose but lately he's been fascinated by his feet :o) The bottom two are us during the snowstorm we had. It was so fun!! I wish it would snow more often. Carter kept looking up at the sky while I was trying to get him in the car. It was the cutest thing! I just wonder what he was thinking.....
7 MONTHS- It has not been that long has it?? He is sitting up and rolling like crazy now. Next he'll be crawling and pulling up....YIKES!

Here is what we've been up to lately.....
-Yesterday was a gorgeous day! We cooked a brisket on our new bbq pit-well actually we got it at a garage sale. Daddy was trying to keep the sun out of Carter's eyes.
Bathtime fun! This child is ALWAYS smiling! I love it!!
Carter's 1st Halloween-he went as an elephant. Is he cute or what?
He loved the costume. Didn't seem to mind a bit.

Ty and I went to a wedding Friday night and my sis watched Carter. 1st time to leave him-we got home around midnight. I just had to go in and give him kisses.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch in Conroe Sunday afternoon to get some pics with the pumpkins. They turned out super cute. Carter is such a great baby-we woke him up from his nap to take the pics. He was in such a great mood the whole time we were there! I think he only gets fussy about once or twice a week. Other than that he's one happy baby =)

We are so thankful to have such a peaceful baby. After months of not sleeping well we are finally in a groove. He goes down around 7:30(in his OWN bed!!) and we don't hear a peep from him until 4 or 5 am!! Then I usually put him in our bed so we can snuggle. We usually fall back asleep until at least 6:30. Sometimes even 7:30!! Sleep is wonderful when you haven't had it in a while! Carter LOVES his baby food too-we have already went through all 5 fruits and veggies in stage one. He usually has cereal and bananas in the morning and then a veggie/fruit or 2 veggies for dinner. I can't believe how much he eats! I honestly think he is sleeping so well because I stuff him full of food! The pedi said babies have the best appetite control and won't eat if they aren't hungry so I'm not worried about it. A full baby makes for a happy baby ;o) Mommyhood is GrEaT!!!!

Ah...Sleep!

We tried the big boy bed last night for the 2nd time. The first time did not go over so well and I was running back and forth all night. But last night I fed him and put him down around 8:30 and I didnt here a single peep until 4:00!! 71/2 hours of sleep for my baby boy! Yay for him! I stayed up until around 10 so I got about 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. That's the most I've had in a L-O-N-G time. I say only 5 instead of 6 becasue I woke up at 3 a little panicked since I hadn't heard from Carter in so long. So of course, I had to go check in on him and he was sleeping peacefully =) I really hope we can make this a permanant thing. I just have to get him to go 2 more hours-until 6 am and then we'll be doing really good!

I can't believe that our sweet little Carter Jay is 4 months old already! I know it 's been forever since I posted but life's hectic now =) But it's so fun!!!

This was Labor Day weekend. We went to eat with Ty's family at a restaurant here in Huntsville....I can not think of the name right now.....but it's over by the duck pond. Very nice!! It was pretty pricey but would make a great place for an anniversary dinner.
Carter is just about the happiest baby! He is always smiling-even at strangers. The other day he smiled at 2 older ladies at Wal Mart...what a little flirt!

Not quite finished

I wasn't quite finished with the post below but Carter was demanding my attention so I cut it short.

We got to bring carter home when he was 9 days old! His doctor, who was awesome, was really shocked he was doing well enough to go home after such a short time. We are really so blessed to have such a healthy little boy. It's crazy really....I am SO thankful! Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts again....God heard every single one.

Words cannot describe how it feels to be a mom. Carter is just the sweetest thing. Now that we are home from the hospital I just can't get enough of him. Leaving him at the hospital when I was released to come home after just a couple days was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. It was terrible. I cried all night long! We couldn't get up early enough to get back to the nicu to visit with him. But he's home now and we hope to avoid the hospital for a long, long time!

I will try and post some more recent pics tomorrow.......gotta go for now! :o)

These are some pics of Carter's stay in the NICU.

He had jaundice so he had to stay under the blue light for a few days. He looks like a little space man with the goggles :o)
This was so hard for me because he could only be out for 30 minutes every 3 hours to eat. And all I wanted to do was just hold him. It was awful just sitting there and not being able to just scoop him up and snuggle him.
After the jaundice level went down he was able to come out from under the blue light. Then they used the blue "blanket". It was a little pad that they put under his clothes. This was the first day he got to wear actual clothes! Ty said he looked like a Glo Worm!!
This is the chair that we spent a lot of time in.....just waiting to bring him home!!

Ty was feeding him....then Carter was only eating around 10-20 CC- Not even a whole ounce! Now he's eating between 3-4 ounces. He has come such a long way from when he was in the NICU.

He made it!!! Carter was born on Wednesday May 13th at 4:57 pm. He weighed 4 lbs 5 oz and was 17 1/2 inches long. He is so tiny! He was 6 weeks early and we have all been praying that he would be healthy....our prayers were answered. He is such a little miracle! He doesn't have any breathing problems. The Dr. said he'd probably have trouble taking a bottle since he was so premature but he's done great! He had to have a tube for a day but he yanked it out and hasn't had to have it since! They have been slowly increasing his feedings- he started out with 5 cc (about a teaspoon) and he's up to 35 already. The doctor said he has definitely surprised them. We are so thankful...GOD IS AMAZING!

Ty is so proud of his little guy...he is going to be a wonderful dad. He was great all through the labor and delivery.
This is just after he was born. He has an IV in his right hand and monitors for his heart and lungs.

I can't wait to bring him home!!!

Last day

Okay...just keep in mind that I've been in the hospital since last Monday...LOL.This is our last day. The doctor is going to start pitocin in the morning at 6 so maybe we'll have a baby by this time tomorrow!!! I know I haven't posted any belly pics so I figured that I'd post some before it was too late.

Everything is looking good with the baby so far...I'm confident that everything will go smoothly tomorrow. I'll try to post something as soon as I can when we get home.

Major decision

The doctor came by and said that he really wants to induce on Wednesday. Carter will be six weeks early, so there are risks. The major one being that his lungs are not fully developed.

Worst case scenario: He'll need to be on a ventilator for 2-3 weeks at Texas Childrens in Houston. Best case: He will just need a little help breathing and can stay here at St. Lukes in the NICU.
The dr said we could wait another week to give him that time to further develop his lungs. However, that too is risky. Dr. Peet said that if we wait one day too long and I get an infection-from the ruptured uterus-that the baby will be premature and be born with an infection. He said in that case-he would rather eliminate that risk and just deliver early. A preemie would be better than a preemie that is already sick...make sense? However, he said it was completely up to us.

He sent in the neonatologist to talk to us about the risks of having a preemie....scary stuff. But of course she had to tell us the WORST case situations. There is always the possibility Carter will be tiny but breathing perfectly fine. I am a total wreck. I am trying to stay sane for the babys sake but GEEZE! I have already said like a thousand prayers- please say one for us too. I know God will take care of the baby and everything will be fine.

Day Number 8

Well this is day number 8 in the hospital. I rested last weekend and went in for another ultrasound on Monday the 4th and my fluid level was still the same. My dr decided to admit me to get some antibiotics to prevent infection because of the leak and also give me steriod shots to develop the baby's lungs.--incase I deliver early. I was thinking I'd be here for a few days.....but he has decided to keep me here. The good news is my fluid has went from a 6 to a 9.8 and the baby looks great.
When I saw the dr friday he said he wanted to induce this week sometime because he's worried that I will get an infection. He said it's more risky to deliver in an emergency because of an infection than to deliver 6 weeks early. I am waiting on pins and needles this morning for him to come in and let me know what he's thinking. Either way....it looks like we'll be having a baby this week!!!!!

I'll post something after I see him.

I am so bored- you really have no idea. I finally got to leave my room yesterday for a quick ride in a wheel chair and I was so excited! Ty has been here the whole time-he's so great. I know he is more bored than I am but he is not leaving. He went home one night because my sister came and stayed and he called me a million times. I have such a great husband-and I know he will make a great dad :o)

We went to have our 4D ultrasound on Friday....and it turns out I do not have enough amniotic fluid. It should be around 12-15 and I only have a 6. Not only do I not have enough but I have been leaking it for at least the past week. I thought it was just urine though...how was I supposed to know the difference?
They checked Carter's heart rate and fetal movements and said he was doing great under the circumstances. I am on bed rest for the next week to try and keep any more fluid from leaking out. I go back Monday to see if my amniotic fluid has increased any or if it's getting lower. Hopefully it will look good and I can just do bed rest at home. The dr said if it looks worse that I'll have to go into the hospital to keep my levels up until I deliver....which is about 7 more weeks. Pray that doesn't happen.
I am positive though. Just sitting at home yesterday after my appt and taking it very easy seemed to make a big difference....no leakage. I think all the walking and standing at school is not good for leaky pipes... :o)

A little sewing...

I decided to try and make some cutesie burp clothes for Carter...they are fairly expensive in all the stores that I've seen. They were pretty cheap to make. These were from fabric I bought at wal mart. They don't really have a lot to choose from..but I love the cowboy print. It's flannel so it's a little softer.
I am so NOT the sewing type-I almost threw my machine out the window and this was easy stuff. Guess I won't be sewing anything with a pattern anytime soon!!
I made these for my sister's best friend. The dr. is inducing her on the 14th(which happens to be my sisters birthday!) The girly fabrics are so much cuter.
And last....this is some fabric I bought at Hobby Lobby. I was kind of dissapointed- I couldn't really find much for boys. The paisley is kind of girly so we'll have to see if that passes daddy's inspection :0) Ty seems to think I am buying "too girly" of stuff for Carter. I don't really think so...

Baby Shower and Update

Can you believe it's already time for baby showers?!! I can't! I was 28 weeks(7MONTHS!) on Tuesday. Only 12 more weeks to go! These are some pictures from my shower at school on Monday.
This is not a particularly great picture of me-my eyes are closed- but I wanted to show off my bump. He's getting bigger by the day!

I got some super cute clothes!

And sweet cards! I also got a book that's absolutely precious. It's called On the night you were born by Nancy Tillman. If you are having a baby or just had one-or even if you have children at all---you should definitely check it out. It made me a little teary eyed when I read it. :0) Guess that's just part of becoming a mommy!

**Update on the pregnancy
I know, I know...I haven't been the best blogger lately. It seems like the closer the end of school gets- the busier I get.
I went Tuesday for my 7 month check up and the dreaded glucose test. Dr. said everything looks good- and I feel TERRIFIC! I haven't entered the exhaustion phase just yet- hopefully I wont. My only complaint is that my feet are killing me by 4:00 everyday. They are not swollen so that's a plus. However- the dr called today and my sugar levels were way too high from my Tues. appt. So I have to go back next week for a 3 hour test. Ugh! They poke you FOUR times! I guess I'll have to get over my fear of needles before June 23rd! Well that's it for me now.....

Hope everyone is doing great!! Just think...only 9 more weeks of school!

Spring Break and Fredericksburg

Our spring break was the 16th-20th...so I'm a little late.
This is the bed and breakfast we stayed at in Fredericksburg. It was called Angels above the creek lodge. http://angelsabovethecreek.com It was super nice and quiet. We had fun shopping and just hanging out. It was nice to not be on a schedule and just relax.

This was the outdoor patio. Thank goodness we had such great weather!

This the bedding we picked out for Carter....I just love saying his name :o)
I love it because it's not just blue/green or green/brown. It has lots of different colors. I LOVE the red/white striped rug on the floor in the picture. The rug is not for sale on the website but maybe I can find something similar.

We went to the doctor yesterday for our early gender ultrasound. I begged the dr to let us come a few weeks early....I was 17 weeks yesterday. And it's a BOY!!! We are just thrilled. We both knew it was going to be a boy. Just about everyone thought the same thing. My mom and sister both thought I was having a girl.....I think they just really wanted a girl. But they are just excited about it being a boy.
I was amazed at how much he has grown since my last sonogram at 8 weeks! It's truly a miracle.
For names we were stuck between Mason Lee and Carter Jay. We decided last night his name will be Carter Jay :o)...that was my favorite! Jay is Ty's middle name and his grandpa's as well. We can't wait to meet our little angel!!

I go back in 3 weeks for my big 20 week ultra sound. That's when they'll check all the organs and make sure everything looks good. I'll have some good pics to post then. Stay tuned!!

Birthday and New Year's

Today is my sweet hubby's 29th birthday! I can't believe it..... he was 23 when we met. It has been the best 6 years together!

By the way, I made a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing(his fave) and put the number 29 using candles. I was going to post a pic but it is just AWFUL!!! It tastes good :0) but looks terrible. I just couldn't post it....especially since Michelle and Sara make such gorgeous cakes. ....just use your imagination.

This was our first Christmas as a married couple(although it was our 6th together!) and our first Christmas in our new house! My mom and I were busy bees cooking for her and my dad, an aunt and uncle, my sister and her fiance and me and Ty of course. It was so fun..... but lots of work. I cleaned for days before they came.

That's right......we are having a baby! We have known for a while and just about everyone knows- I'm just a little behind on my blogging.
I will be 13 weeks on Tuesday, the 16th. I am feeling great and the Dr. says everything looks great. We will find out the gender on January 13th....I'll be 17 weeks then. I pleaded with the Dr. to let us find out a little early.
Ty and I are super excited! Of course, he wants a boy....and I kind of do too. Boy or Girl....We can't wait to meet our little bundle of joy!

It's been FOREVER since I posted. I figured since I had a little time to spare that I would just post as much as I could!! So here goes............

These are some pics from the honeymoon in Vegas...well these are actually in Arizona! Our day trip to the Grand Canyon....This is how it worked:
We got picked up near our hotel around 6:30 I think. It took us about 2 hours to get to the grand canyon from the strip! And the last 13 or so miles was on a dirt road!! In a bus!
Once we arrived we could do whatever. There were buses there that would take you to 3 different stops at the canyon. 1st stop: SKYWALK!! I don't have pics to post of this because no cameras were allowed. It was spectacular! And a little creepy. We had to put on special booties over our shoes before walking on the glass. Kind of like what a dr would wear during a surgery.
The 2nd stop was where these three pics all came from. They had food here...which was okay. We stayed here the longest. It was the best stop because there was so much to see.
Then we went to our last stop- the indian reservation. It was set up to look like the old days. With a little general store, jail, etc. It was our least favorite stop but still interesting...
See the bottom picture? We walked and walked around the canyon to get to that spot and that's where the picture in the middle was taken. Make sense? From that point the view was amazing! It was the tallest point we could get to.

It was really scary because there were NO barriers at all along the canyon. You could walk as close as you wanted....which wasn't too close for me!
The bad part was it was HOT!! Not humid- just a dry kind of hot. We drank LOTS of water.

And that's it!! We were EXHAUSTED by the time we got back to our hotel....it was around 6:30. A long trip but totally worth it :o) Thanks Lee and Sue! We loved it!!!!

Can you believe I painted this?? Me neither...

I had a BLAST at the paint party...even though I complained about my painting a LOT! Once I got home I loved it! It was super hard for me. ...straight lines and paint do not go hand in hand in my opinion.

What a week!

Hurricane Ike has caused some major damage. Some of that damage caused our power to go out like everyone else in Huntsville. We woke up at 6 am Saturday with no power and haven't had any since. Ty has a generator in his work truck that we used for our ice box...(it looks funny to type that but that's what I've always called it!) so our food wouldn't spoil. However, he had to go to work Wednesday. So I packed up our freezer goods and came to Jewett. I have been hanging out with my sister for the past couple of days.

I didn't realize how much we depend on ELECTRICITY. No hot water for showers, no television, no lights at night, no microwave, no computer, no anything pretty much. School is closed this week and they are supposed to make a decision on Saturday about next week. I don't think I can go to work with no power and no shower! But we'll see!

I am SO thankful that a tree didn't fall on our house. Some of our neighbors weren't so lucky. I have been thinking "GEEZE! I NEED ELECTRICITY! I NEED A SHOWER! BLAH BLAH BLAH!" And then I think about those people from Galveston who don't even have a house to go home to. Compared to that, no power seems so minor.

I'm praying for them.......please say a prayer for them and everyone else who has been hit by this storm.

1. Even though the wedding is over and done with I am STILL reading wedding magazines. I love reading The Knot because they have real stories of how people met, the proposal and everything....I love it!

2. I am super OCD only when it comes to folding towels. If they have a stripe(ours do)- then all the stripes have to match up. And the washclothes all have be folded and stacked the EXACT same way. Ty thinks I am crazy!

3. I am so addicted to John and Kate plus 8! I haven't had time to watch so I've been recording it. She is a great mother :o) and her kiddos are precious!

4. I always wear my seatbelt....always, always. Unless I am the passenger! I am horrible about remembering to put it on unless I'm driving I guess. I am working on that!

5. I love to buy and collect scrapbook stuff- stickers, paper, stamps....you name it-I have it. However, I hate to use it. I mean, I love scrapbooking but I feel like I am going to run out if I use it. Weird, I know!

6. I can't keep ANY plant alive. Not even a cactus! I water and water...they die. So I don't water for a while....and they still die. I even put miracle grow on some of my green plants and they DIED!

7. I have become super obsessive over what I eat. I haven't had a Dr Pepper in over a month(and I used to drink 4-5 a day!!!) I am drinking lots of water and trying to eat very healthy.......................................because I'M PREGNANT! :o)

**I go to the doctor September 23rd so stay tuned!!!! We are sooooo excited!

This is the first place we went because it was easy to find and by our hotel. It was great! The people really looked real......I mean really real! Does that even make sense?! Anyway, we took pictures of just about everyone but I only posted my favorites and the ones that looked super real. Ty playing basketball.
And golf. He is really getting into this as you can tell!!!

She looked so real ....it was kind of weird.

Okay, this picture of me is horrible but I had to show you TIM MCGRAW! He looks so real huh?

After a while you weren't sure what was real and what wasn't. I kept bumping into real people because the statues were everywhere.

At one point in the museum we turned a corner and saw this preacher guy....I don't know who he was supposed to be.....but I thought he was real!! First, I asked Ty "Is he real?" He didn't really respond so then I looked the WAX statue right in the face and said "Are you real?" Ty died laughing.

I was going to at least tell you about the wedding- even though I don't have pictures to post.

Well.....in one word it was PERFECT!
Ty was SUPER nervous and teary eyed the whole time- he was shaking. I was just shocked that we were finally to that point.....about to say "I DO!" But the preacher got through everything and so did we and then came the kiss.......and let me tell you- Ty laid it on- big time! I almost fell over!!! I loved it.
It was the happiest day and I am so blessed. Ty is a wonderful person and love him so much. I am so happy he is my husband!

We're Back!!!

No, No....we didn't just get back! We have been home since Friday, the 8th. However, I went to work that next Monday and since then have been crazy busy with work and being a newlywed! So........No wedding pics yet but they are online at www.timjharrisphotography.com if you would like to see. It will probably take another year before I post pics of the wedding......since it's taken forever just to do the honeymoon :0) It will take a while to post everything (maybe a few days) from Vegas. There was just so much to see and want to share them all! So stay tuned....
About to board the big ol' plane!! I was super excited since I've never flown before. And it wasn't bad at all- well.....it was a little clustered and I have some space issues but other than that it was great!

Okay.....it's been FOREVER since I have posted anything. I still haven't posted pics of the shower- I have been crazy busy lately. After everything gets back to normal I will have to update everything! But for now..............................
Only ONE MORE DAY until the wedding!! We are getting so excited and kinda nervous. I am hoping and praying that everything goes as planned. It's been a long journey....almost 7 years we have been dating.....Gosh!-that's a long time! I can't wait to marry Ty- he is my best friend and love him more than he will ever know. .....okay now I am tearing up! Gotta go :'0)

VEGAS BABY!!

Ty's mom is coming over later to drop off our tickets to VEGAS!!! I have never been in an airplane before so I'm starting to get a little nervous...

We are staying at the Venetian Hotel for four nights. The thing I'm most excited about is going to the Grand Canyon. We are taking a tour there one day and we'll also be going to the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk! You know....the glass bridge? I am so excited about this.....Ty on the other hand is not so excited. He thinks that 4000 feet + glass=DANGEROUS!

Okay......The best thing someone ever did was create the "DO NOT CALL LIST" to avoid these people. They call you (or used to) at 8:00 at night when you are trying to just chill out and have some peace. Well, I called the 1-800 number a long time ago and haven't heard from em' in quite a while.
But don't think that they didn't find another way to contact me! Oh no!.....about a month or so ago I started getting Telemarketer faxes through the fax machine. Which is almost worse than them calling on the phone. It wastes paper and INK! I get TONS of them- at least one per day, if not more. There are about 3 different ones: There is a vacation one, one about an energy drink or pill or something, and one about insurance.
I mean come on......who is going to call an 800 number advertising a 4 day cruise for $99/person????? Someone with no sense maybe.
Well, there happened to be a number at the bottom to remove your fax number...................... It DID NOT WORK! Can you believe that!!? I mean, the number was valid and I punched in my fax number and it said "Your number has successfully been removed." Ya right...for about a day!
I tried turning my printer/fax off for a while. Doesn't work.
Then I tried the "Do Not Call" list thing and was going to enter the fax number. Doesn't work either.
Ugh. I'm stuck with them I guess.

Sorry this was so long but I needed to vent my frustrations.

Going to the chapel.....

This is the little chapel that I just fell in love with. I can't believe we will soon be husband and wife (only 3 weeks!) It's been such a long journey. We have been dating since I was 17 and I'm 24 now......7 years! I can't believe it.....now that I'm writing it - it really seems like forever. We were so young then! I know, I know...those of you reading this are probably saying "You are still young! " And ya, we are. But back then was a whole different kind of young! Anyway..............I can't wait to open this new chapter in our lives :o)
Here is the chapel at night. And it's filled with candles....there is no electricity out there...in the chapel I mean. This is the photographer who is doing our pictures. I found this on his website a while back. I think it is just beautiful!
Question: See the wreath thing that's above the chapel? I really don't like it, but I don't know what else we'd use up there. The picture at the top doesn't have anything. Does that look too plain?
Also, see the pillars on the sides. ...with the arrangements? What if that wasn't there either? I don't want it to look like we didn't decorate, but at the same time I love how simple it is without any thing.
I would love your suggestions!

Well, I sent my invites for the wedding out about a week ago. The RSVP's aren't due for about another week but I've received several already. It's so exciting!!! I can't wait to check the mail everyday and see if I have any responses.
Only 25 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!(I think that's what the countdown thing says...) I think I have just about everything done. I met with the florist today to finalize everything....I've changed my mind only about 100 times! I still need to talk to Sara about the cakes....mine will be white with pink and brown ribbon along the bottom and Ty's will be a camo/hunting theme. I found a cute one on Cake Central. And I think that's about it :o)
It's been fun planning everything but I'll be soooooo glad when it's over. It can be very stressful!
Let's just say I am counting down the days until the HONEYMOON!!

I found these absolutely adorable clothes at The Childrens Place and the best part is.......I got them both for under $10!!!! They are having a HUGE summer sale. Of course, they are for Addie. She is gonna be soooooo spoiled!

This one is my fave......and since Addison has lots of hair I thought it fit her just perfect!

Nope- It's all stuff for my classroom. I've been collecting other people's junk for a while now and lets just say....I'm outta room! This is one of our guest bedrooms and as you can see-it's FULL! If you haven't heard..................I GOT A JOB! As a kindergarten teacher in Willis at Cannan Elementary :o) I am super excited and relieved as well. There for a while I started to get worried that I'd never find a job. But God answered my MANY prayers and now here I am......waiting to move all this stuff out of my house and put it to use!
Oh yeah....If you gave me some of your "junk"....ThAnKs! I'm sure I'll use it come August!

Ty's brother and his wife Mandy just had a beautiful baby girl on June 24th at 2:45 AM. She weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 19 inches long. Her name is Addison Grace but we will call her Addie. I think we were just as excited as they were.

This is Ty holding Addie just about an hour after she was born. He was so amazed at how one minute she was in the womb and the next....VOILA! She is so perfect! God is pretty amazing!!

We couldn't wait to get to the hospital the next morning! She wasn't so bundled up so it's a little easier to see her. And yes....Ty is STILL in amazement!! .......I think that might mean something!
